The food was really good! Our server was excellent. The view is amazing and we loved sitting outside on the patio. We wished they had the grouper sandwich as a dinner option and we hope one day they bring back cheese grits as a side. Our group of 4 really would prefer to give a 4.5 rating.

Runaway Island in Panama City Beach is a gem! My family of five had an amazing dining experience here. The atmosphere is lively and fun, with the added bonus of live music that enhances the beachfront vibe. Both indoor and outdoor seating options allow you to enjoy the breathtaking view of the Gulf no matter where you sit. The food was outstanding. We started with pretzel bites and handmade cheese curds, which were absolutely delicious. For dinner, the Alaskan king crab legs were a highlight, offering great taste at a decent price. The blackened grouper dinner with crab meat was simply fantastic--cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. While my wife found her fish tacos a bit lacking in fish and flavor, and the chicken sandwich wasn't to our liking, the overall meal was still very enjoyable. The kids' chicken tenders were exactly what you'd expect, satisfying their simpler tastes. Despite a couple of minor hiccups, Runaway Island impressed us with its upbeat atmosphere, stunning views, and exceptional food. It's a great spot for a memorable family meal on the beach. One final note...Our server was fantastic!

Had a very enjoyable evening dinner with our granddaughter and two friends at Runaway Island. Nichole was friendly and attentive, but not bothersome! She offered suggestions, kept refills coming, and got our order for a party of 5 filled perfectly.She even took a photo of the group. The food was delicious. We shared calamari and crab cakes for appetizers. I had a shrimp & Grouper which was delicious. Others had batter fried fish, shrimp tacos, and a chicken strip dinner. (Someone doesn't like seafood.) Everything was great. We sat on the patio with two pups and it was very breezy, and we were a little early for sunset. But it was cloudy anyway. They had "live music" consisting of a guy with a guitar. I hope he has a real job during the day. He isn't going to make it as a musician.

Perfect dinner out for our Last night of VACA! We sat upstairs for the Great View and Vibe. Server was attentive and food was delicious! We got there at 5pm on a Friday night and for just two of us timed it perfectly, long wait at the door as we were leaving.

The pretzel bits are A+, grouper sandwich blackened delicious, cheese curds B, Bloody Mary B, view B. Great place and would come back for sure

On my visit to Runaway Island I'm giving it 4 stars. The menu was limited due to kitchen being redone I believe, but what was on the menu looked good. I started with the Baja Rolls that came out piping hot. It came with a sweet and sour sauce I believe, but I didn't use it. I thought they were good out it. The shrimp tacos were really good and not greasy. I got French fries with mine which were room temperature to cool. I didn't say anything and ate them because I was pretty hungry. Service: our waiter was good and checked in on us a lot. Ambience- sat outside and had a great view of the beach. Wish the weather was warmer, but what can you do ? Would definitely go back when in town and hopefully their full menu will be available.
